New toys!

Hi everyone!  Sorry, I have been a little busy lately.  I haven't gotten the time to write.  So, as you know, my neighbor Bogey and I aren't very fond of each other.  We are always barking at each other through the fence. (I still haven't found a way to get under it) Anyway somehow I lost my collar, but I promise I had nothing to do with it.  Well…… maybe.  Kiki got a little annoyed. But I charmed her with my good looks;)  She was very nice and got me a new one!  I love it.  It is bright orange.  I also got a new tag.  I'm not the only one who got new toys! My brother Teddy got a new leash, Steve Irwin got a new tag, and Suzie got a new harness!  I think everybody loves their new stuff!  And Kiki!  Thanks for reading!

The Doggy Flu

Hey everyone!  I've been sick with the doggy flu, but I am feeling much better now!  Today I am working on a video to show you why my best friend Kiki doesn't write as often as she should.  It's gonna be a really fun show to watch!

I've had the doggy flu.  It is the same as when people get the flu.  I had a fever and I didn't feel like eating or even getting up.  Kiki knew something was wrong because I wasn't barking at the neighbor's dog, Bogey, while I sat with Kiki around the bonfire.  She took me to the nice doctor at Blackman Animal Clinic and I got treats!  But I also found out I had lost a lot of weight, so now Kiki has to feed me twice a day.  Works for me!  I like food…a lot.  And firewood.  And sweatshirts.  All yummy!

Now that I am feeling better, I'm ready to get back to work on my blog.  I didn't get to go with Kiki on her last trip to the Michigan Ice Fest; apparently they don't allow dogs to climb the ice.  Whatever.  I wish I could have gone and met all the really amazing people she met, but Kiki promised we will go camping real soon, when she brings the tin can out of winter storage.  I hope we go to Lake Superior again, the water is fun to play in!

But now I have to get back to my video.  Seriously, you will love it!  I should win an Oscar for Best Director, Best Short Film, and Best Editing.  Seriously.  I'll have my people call your people.

I'm So Happy To Meet You!

My name is Rooney, The Wonder Dog.  I added the "Wonder Dog" part, because it's so true!  I am a Landseer Newfoundland who lives and travels with Kiki, my constant companion.  She's awesome!  Kiki feeds me, walks me, and takes me to lots of new places.  When we go on trips, we live in this really cool old trailer that looks like a tin can, except we don't spend much time in the trailer.  Mostly, we walk in the wilderness for days at a time, and Kiki lets me run and chase wild animals.  Some of them tease me, some are just big bullies (like the raccoons!) but it's all good.

I'm innocent!
When I was a puppy, Kiki took me on our first trip.  She got so mad at me, because I stole her firewood, but it was fun to chew on.  I still do that, but I've learned how to be sneaky about it.  I've learned a lot since that first trip.  Kiki has taught me how to guard our campsite, walk nicely on a leash, come back when she calls me, and I've learned how to swim in the Great Lakes!  Mostly, though, I've learned that everybody loves me!  Wherever we go, people want to pet me and talk to me, and sometimes they give me treats.  Kiki says I "open doors" for her.  She likes to talk to people and hear their stories, so she can write about them.  I like to help by looking lovable and attracting people for Kiki.  We're a team!
Meeting people and making friends
Guard dog extraordinaire!

When Kiki tells her stories, she doesn't always tell the whole story.  I see things she doesn't, and I can figure people out better, so I am excited to tell you about our trips, and our life at home.  I hope you'll keep reading!
